Yeppoon is a tropical, coastal city located on the Capricorn Coast. Briefly, Yeppoon was considered a viable location for sugar production, and expanded further during the gold rush, before shifting focus to the plentiful agricultural harvests, which was then followed by cattle grazing and fishing all contributing to the local economy. Currently, Yeppoon is known for its vibrant tourism, accompanied by natural trails and spectacular beach views. The Yeppoon Show is held in June each year, and the city also hosts an Emu Park Oktoberfest in October.

Yeppoon is located on the Queensland coast, 40 km (35 min drive) east of Rockhampton and 655 km (7hr 30min drive) north of Brisbane.
