Coastal Caloundra is surrounded by stunning beaches, providing sun, sand and surf for both local residents and tourists. Eight beaches cover the terrain from the Glasshouse Mountains to Pumicestone Passage, each with beautiful surroundings. Initially established in 1875, Caloundra had a big boom in population owing to its location as a key base for the Australia Airforce in World War II. Since then, Caloundra is a great holiday destination, boasting a close proximity to Bellingham Maze, Australia Zoo and other tourist attractions.

Caloundra is 100 km (1.5 hr drive) north of Brisbane.
