Kenilworth is a small locality on the Sunshine Coast, just north of Brisbane. A rural town, the area was home to a booming dairy industry with a number of attractions including a frommagery. Today, the cheese factory is still active, but expansion into agriculture is the town’s main focus for industry. The town was named after Kenilworth. A Romance, a sizzling tale of romance and intrigue by Sir Walter Scott. Richard Joseph Smith’s wife was reading the novel at the time, and the town was named accordingly. Kenilworth has a number of events annually, including the Cheese, Food and Wine Fesitval, Quilt and Craft Festival and the Show and Rodeo.

Kennilworth is 150 km (2 hr drive) north of Brisbane and inland from the Sunshine Coast.
