Originally known as Geraldton until 1910, Innisfail is based on the Cassowary Coast Region in the north east of Queensland. Innisfail is renowned for its tropical climate, and boasts many excellent exports, being well known particularly for bananas and sugar industries. Locally, it’s known as one of Australia’s ‘wettest’ towns, constantly humid and rarely dropping below 20 degrees. In a prime spot on the Bruce Highway, Innisfail is a multicultural community, remaining an enduring destination with backpackers, immigrants, and locals.

Innisfail is 1,600 km (18 hr drive) north of Brisbane and 90 km (1 hr 15 min drive) south of Cairns.
