It’s time for your seniors to shine. Senior Superstar proves that talent is ageless. Celebrate the skills and creativity of the over 55’s in your community with this unique variety show. Do you have Mike Jagger or Dolly Parton next door? It’s time to get them out of the house and up on the stage. Everyone’s welcome - singers, groups, dance troupes, musos, bands, poets, comedians, magicians, ventriloquists, jugglers, trained animal acts even contortionists. Senior Superstar presents the amazingly talented through to the amazingly crazy. It's a show that brings everyone together to see just how talented the locals are. Seniors register with us, we take them through their paces with stage craft workshops and rehearsals then the spotlight hits and it’s SHOWTIME.

Considerations

Venues need to be able to cater for guests and performers with special needs. Stages may require disabled access. Senior Superstar can advise on whether this is required 3 weeks out from the event.

Unique Selling Point

Too often senior's entertainment is in the form of a morning concert where seniors arrive, sit down watch the show, maybe have a sing a long and then leave. Senior Superstar is entirely different in that seniors are offered the opportunity to be part of the show. Anyone over 55 who wants to be part is welcome to register. This show provides a showcase of self-expression and talents for older people in the community, whilst promoting positive images and maintaining social well-being. Senior Superstar is a light hearted event which attracts not only seniors but generations of families, friends and neighbours .

Marketing Materials

Senior Superstar contacts each venue and local council in advance to promote this event. We work with venues sending releases, flyers and posters. These are also sent to retirement and lifestyle villages as well as community organisations on the recommendation of each council. Follow up press releases and profiles on entrants are sent to local media to aim for exposure and increased awareness of the event.

Community Engagement

The project is aimed at anyone over 55 with a desire to perform. Seniors are often at risk of social isolation, due to decreased mobility, loss of community and family networks, socio-economic disadvantage and poor health. Working with community organisations, Senior Superstar engages with all seniors including at-risk seniors through encouraging participation and an enjoyable social event that builds networks and social cohesion. Many of the seniors that perform make friendships during their involvement with some forming performance groups to continue their love of entertaining.
