Julia Creek is an idyllic township in the centre of Queensland. Established around 1864, the town was founded by Donald McIntyre, who named it after his niece. Although a small location, the town operates a rigorous farming industry, in addition to the creation of wool and mining. It’s also the home of the famous Dirt n Dust Festival, a popular sporting festival which has been held in the town since 1995.

Julia Creek is 1630 km (19 hr drive) north west of Brisbane and 650 km (7 hr drive) west of Townsville.
