A love story sung one letter at a time.

Daddy Long Legs is a musical love story told through a series of letters between a young orphan girl and her mysterious benefactor. Based on Jean Webster’s classic novel, which inspired the 1955 movie starring Fred Astaire, this beloved tale in the spirit of Jane Austen, the Bronte Sisters, and Downton Abbey, has been praised for its innocence, its sheer beauty, and its magnificent musical score. Daddy Long Legs has charmed audiences of all ages from Los Angeles to London and its “brilliant Australian Premiere at Brisbane’s Powerhouse” (Weekendnotes) was equally well loved, resulting in shortlist nominations for Best Musical or Cabaret, and lead performer Ella Macrokanis shortlisted for a Billie Brown-Best Emerging Artist Award at the Matilda Awards.

Marketing Materials

NiKNaK productions is currently remounting Daddy Long Legs-The Musical with some adjustments to create a tour- ready package including new marketing materials, socials and flyers. A small broadcast quality video is being produced with plans to expand productions based on the new remount. The Australian Premiere drew a wide range of audiences through venue EDM and producers EDMs, social marketing networks. Press release liaison with local newspapers and local radio stations was supported through initiating Q & A Book Readings at a local venue and supplying media quality photos.

Community Engagement

As the story celebrates great literature an ideal Q&A opportunity exists for a book reading and song performance by the two lead performers to occur at local libraries, school libraries or book shops. Avid Bookshop & Where the Wild Things are in West End, Brisbane, hosted this event during the Australian Premier Season of Daddy Long Legs at Brisbane Powerhouse in 2019.
