Empire Theatres is a performing arts precinct owned by Toowoomba Regional Council. Their spectacular art deco heritage and state-of-the-art capabilities combine for extreme flexibility and sophistication in staging concerts and shows. It is located in the CBD of Toowoomba and is a venue for hire alongside producing and programming performing arts. Empire Theatres have a number of performance spaces available, making the it the perfect choice of venue for your act.
Objectives
The Empire Theatres programmes consistent programming to suit our current audiences. Adventurous programming to grow new audience, and small event programming to meet the needs of our wider community and regional spaces. They are looking to build youth, migrant and Indigenous audiences whilst offering well rounded program of events for the whole community.
Audience Insights
The Empire Theatres have put a lot of work into building migrant, refugee and Indigenous audiences. Their current audience demographic is older, however affordable children's productions are also very desirable, these don't have to be big shows. Additional engagement opportunities are desirable depending on the product. Currently Empire Theatres programs, cabaret, children's/ family, comedy, dance, drama, interdisciplinary, live contemporary music (art), physical theatre/ circus and visual theatre.
