Brisbane Arts Theatre is an iconic independent theatre company. We produce engrossing, high quality, accessible theatre. Established in 1936, our 80-year-old theatre company has been the city's gateway theatre for decades. Our key goal to provide accessible theatre for Brisbane audiences has translated to accessibility in price, accessibility in the types of productions we stage and accessibility through the welcoming and intimate atmosphere at our iconic 50-year-old venue on Petrie Terrace on the outskirts of the Brisbane CBD.

Objectives

In 2018, our theatre company will produce three seasons: a diverse mainhouse season, a season of our iconic children's theatre and a special early-week parody season. We do sometimes have space for venue hire. Our space can accommodate both musical theatre and plays in our boutique 149 seat venue.

Audience Insights

Due to our own eclectic programming, our audience varies. Our audience are generally laid-back and loyal, with many patrons returning to our season of productions. As we produce long seasons, patronage can vary from anywhere between 60%-99% capacity. Our audience see productions at Brisbane Arts Theatre as we pride ourselves on quality, affordable productions.
