VINCENT explores the life of the man behind the brush. The life of Vincent Van Gogh was one plagued with debilitating schizophrenia, depression, severe anxiety and a bi-polar disorder. By exploring the themes of mental health and mental health awareness, Vincent seeks to illustrate that there is power and expression even when suffering, and that it doesn't have to be done alone.

Vincent had a brother, Theo, who was his one true support and so the show dives deeply into looking at the bonds of brother hood, whilst battles with Vincent's inner Psyche continued to torment him.

A beautifully captivating show that will truly make you hold your breath. Vincent strives to break the laws of contemporary dance, and seamlessly fuse dance with theatrical brilliance and magic. An exquisitely haunting score will keep you on the edge of your seat, as you are transported into the mind and life of one of the most innovative painters of the impressionistic art era.

Vincent was a painter, but he was also a man of titanic emotions. This show puts those emotions onto his sleeve, onto the stage, and into you heart.

Considerations

Vincent can be performed as a same day bump-in. We have our own QLab system, and if required, a Tarkett dance floor. A sprung, wooden stage of preferred size 8 x 8 metres minimum is required for this performance. Haze is used in the performance. No other content warnings apply.

a. The Full size show - suited for proscenium arch theatres comes with the full set, lighting package & control. The best option for really experiencing what the show has to offer.

b. The smaller show - which is designed as a reduced performance for intimate spaces, galleries, private performances or for venues which may not have the technical requirements for the full shows. This may include reduced sections of the set, simplified technical requirements but still the same level of artistic quality and integrity.

Unique Selling Point

Vincent was a real man, with real emotions, and real mental health issues. By using a narrative driven format of performance, for the first time contemporary dance is completely accessible to all audiences of all demographics and ages.

Marketing Materials

To partner with our education program, we have teachers notes, directors notes, synopsises, Q&A Guides and other printed copy. We have an artistic team and dancers who will customise workshops and master classes to suit any community group, demographic or skill level. We have a breath taking show, soundtracks available for purchase and high quality videos, images and interviews that you are welcome to have and use in the lead up to marketing the show in your community.

Community Engagement

The community engagement programs we have available are completely customisable! Thats the best bit! We have a strong education focus, and want to involve community as much as we can.

From a dance perspective - we are happy to engage with school groups, dance schools, community groups or independants that want to come and learn choreography from the show, technique, safe dance practice or just do a class with our dancers.

We want to collaborate with local visual artists and galleries - pair with them workshops and dance classes that they can partner with art classes and workshops to create works to present in the foyer or local community galleries.

We want to educate and empower - coming into your community weeks before the show does, to collaborate with theatre groups, schools, youth groups or dancers. To give them the opportunity to learn or to actually perform on stage with our Vincent dancers and put on a unique "act 2" of the show, where your local community can perform, be seen on stage, and have a once in a lifetime opportunity.
