Triggered is a collaboration between two of Brisbane's musical A-listers; Tom Thum- an internationally acclaimed beatboxer, b-boy and live loop artist, and Ben Ely, of Regurgitator fame, with 5 dancers from Brisbane-based dance company; Elements Collective. Experimenting with live drums & guitar, beatboxing, trigger sounds and looping, our 5 dancers use their physical movement to trigger, and be triggered by, the live sounds.

Our backdrop is new and old amplifiers, speakers and cords, displayed somewhat like a New York City alleyway. The show starts with an ambient "hum" that is to become the centre point of the whole show. The performers take us on a journey as they try to find and get rid of the hum, creating chaos, choreography, comedy and confusion as they play with cords and leads to correct the tone.

This new show is directed by Leah Clark (B-girl Flix) a multi-national champion b-girl and award winning choreographer, best known for her previous work M.I.N.D.E.D which has toured extensively throughout Australia and abroad since 2017.

Elements Collective are regarded as one of Australia’s leading Hip-hop Dance Companies, over their 6 years they have produced many national and internationally recognized and award winning dancers, performers and teachers and are pushing a unique and new direction for hip-hop dance and theatre in QLD. Elements Collective work closely with organisations and programs around QLD providing workshops, mentorships & facilitation for at-risk and disadvantaged youth, multicultural groups and charity organisations as well as running over 20 public classes a week from their Fortitude Valley studios.
