In this fun and interactive show for children 2- 8 years (approximately Pre-School- Year 3) the audience watches, participates in and learns about flamenco music and dance. The show takes the children and their families/educators on a journey with Ruby as she learns about flamenco, its history, culture, artistic aspects, musical instruments, dance, rhythms and expression. They will be ‘magic-ed’ from Australia to Spain to discover the origins of flamenco and join in clapping, stamping, singing, dancing and more.

Considerations

Given it is an interactive dance show for children they need space to be able to dance.

Wooden floor preferred but not essential.

Studio Flamenco offers a fully professional Adelaide-based flamenco music and dance ensemble. They are a dynamic group of flamenco dancers and musicians with vast performance experience, including festivals, functions and theatre productions as well as film and television.

The group is directed by dancers Emma Fernée and Susi Masi with principal guitarist Aloysius Leeson. Also performing with Studio Flamenco are dancers, singers and musicians chosen from among the best flamenco artists in Australia and from around the world.
