Obsessions of a Control Freak picks up the journey of our hero, Frances, the beloved freak from Confessions of a Control Freak. Only this time Frances has all but buried herself in her world of lists and other obsessions and she is only digging a deeper hole for herself. In this show we’ll be exploring the darker side of popular struggles of modern society like self-improvement, the search for happiness & the constant need for more & better without preaching or sending audiences running to their therapists. The medium of cabaret will be a basis for exploring the material however unlike most cabaret, movement and physicality will be strong elements in the show. This work will contain all original songs and music allowing us to create material that truly serves the story, the mood and the work as a whole.
