Unique Selling Point
Experience the thrill of live performance with Australia’s sweetheart of opera, Tiffany Speight. She has sung many roles for Opera Australia. If you haven’t caught Tiffany live or on DVD, you will know her as a regular on Spicks and Specks. Alison Jones was born in Gippsland and spent much of her career in the UK where she was a principal artist with the D’oyly Carte Opera Company and sang everywhere from the Royal Albert Hall to Elton John’s birthday party. Caroline Vercoe has recently returned to Melbourne after 15 years with Opera Australia.
Marketing Materials
We would like to work with individual venues and communities to engage in a meaningful way. This could include anything from conducting a workshop with local choirs, choral groups and musical societies and giving them the opportunity to participate in the performance to giving a pre-show talk to U3A or having a CWA supper and post show talk.
Community Engagement
Love and Other Battles is an opportunity for regional audiences to experience the impact of high quality live opera mixed in with other styles. As someone who grew up in regional Victoria who was not exposed to professional opera until I was studying music at the Victorian college of the Arts, I am passionate about providing diverse musical experiences for regional audiences. We welcome the chance to introduce a bit of opera to amateur groups and impart some technical knowledge along the way as well as developing more informal relationships with community groups by giving them a glimpse into life as an artist... all in the spirit of a shared love of music.
