Jugg Life is an explosive fusion of dynamic live percussion and relentless energy with the breathtaking skills of two of Australia’s best jugglers and a combined 30 years of performing experience. Beginning with the simple tap of a stick on a drum and ending with the total mayhem of both performers keeping ludicrous numbers of props in the air, Jugg Life is an intense, non-stop escalation of skill and entertainment. As sound melds seamlessly with world-class technical ability and energetic stage presence, performers Byron Hutton and Joe Fisher display precisely what they love about juggling in as many ways as possible, incorporating competition, danger, music and a Rubik's Cube. Colourful, visual, turbulent and fun, Jugg Life is fun for the entire family.

Considerations

In 2014, two of Australia's strongest soloist jugglers (Byron Hutton and Richard Sullivan) joined forces to create a unique, high-energy two man show. Following success at the 2015 Perth & Adelaide Fringe Festivals (and winning the 2015 Gasworks Circus Showdown), Sullivan left Australia to study circus at Stockholm's prestigious Dans Och Cirkushögskolan, where he maintains an active role in development of the show. In 2016, talented up-and-comer Joe Fisher was added in Sullivan's place, and the show was redeveloped from the ground up for the 2016 Melbourne Fringe Festival, where it received nominations for Best Circus and Best Kids show. Since, the company has gone from strength to strength and received wide acclaim in the Australian circus community.

Community Engagement

Juggling workshops: We can teach workshops of 30-90 minutes on the basics of juggling. Both performers have taught circus and juggling to both children and adults for 5 years with Melbourne's Westside Circus and Tasmania's Slipstream Circus. We're also keen to engage with local youth circuses and professional circus companies to promote juggling and object manipulation as contemporary art forms, and can teach masterclasses on act creation, juggling technique and juggling concepts.
