The Listies present ICKYPEDIA! A hilarious mix of clowning, slapstick and improvised chaos for the whole family to enjoy.
Australia’s favourite kids comedians, The Listies, bring to the stage their best-smelling, award winning book ‘ICKYPEDIA: An A to Z of Disgusting New Words’!
It's a serious silly show that asks some seriously silly questions like: how do you take a SMELLFIE? What is a BANANA DRAMA? Who is the SNOTNESS MONSTER? And what exactly is POOETRY?
Anarchic, spontaneous and laugh out loud funny, ICKYPEDIA is will delight and (un)educate people of all ages. The Listies mix clowning, slapstick, and improvised chaos together with a bucket load of theatrical invention to create family entertainment unlike anyone else. They've sold out shows from Sydney to South Korea and from Dublin to Dubbo so don't miss out on the chance to have your family be a part of the fun! Also there are bubbles. Heaps of bubbles!
A must for fans of Roald Dahl or Andy Griffith's Treehouse series.
"Nobody else does comedy for kids this brilliantly, but what's more astounding is that adults have just as much fun. The Listies occupy a dimension all of their own" ****1/2 The Age.

We are the Listies, an independent theatre company with an established track record of creating award-winning, critically acclaimed and highly tourable work for the children and families sector. Unique Selling Point
The Listies are a classic double act (think Lano and Woodley) and will appeal to any fans of Roald Dahl or Andy Griffiths. Their show ‘More fun than a Wii’ was the first (and only) kids show to be nominated for the prestigious Melbourne Comedy Festival best show award. Since then they’ve toured all over - from Sydney to South Korea and Dublin to Dubbo. Their show's are praised for their ability to make the whole family laugh and their embrace of highbrow things that kids love, like poo jokes and vomit, offer an antidote to slick, saccharine 'Disney-esk' children's entertainment.
Marketing Materials
Included in the purchase of this show will be: Press release, marketing copy, high resolution promo images, sharable youtube videos, content for Facebook and Instagram, A3 poster, and flyer.
The Listies are serious about getting bums on seats and are happy to help venues in whatever way we can to make this happen. We are able to assist in helping to create and target Facebook and Instagram boost posts.
In the past we have also provided assets for colouring competitions and supplied promotional copies of Ickypedia and Ickyfoodia to use as prizes.
Community Engagement
One of the delights of writing a book that encourages kids to make up new words is when we get emails for them full of their own creations - Bananatic: Someone who’s crazy about Bananas being our current favourite. On our previous NSW tour of Ickypedia , The Gunnedah Civic Theatre harnessed the fun of making up words to use as a community engagement tool. They ran a competition asking folks to make up their own new words an offered a ticket give away as a prize.
Other venues have used dress up boxes, themed events and pyjama parties to embrace the sense of fun and play that a kids show brings. We are always happy to brainstorm ideas for foyer activations or creative play concepts too.
Included in the buy off are digital assets for venues to run a colouring in competition as well as a promotional copies of Ickypedia for the winner.

Colleague Review
“When I saw The Listies, it affected my thinking because I really related to the comedy craft they were exercising...it got me a little bit excited to realise that when you are performing for kids, it’s just as delicate and just as sophisticated.” (Read More)

Colleague Review
Respect for the audience as a discerning, sensitive, courageous and intelligent one demands a high degree of rigour and thought... and you can certainly do this in entertaining ways. Australian Duo, The Listies have conquered children’s comedy through deep respect for their audience, with a focus on the subversion of the adult desire for control — with hilarious results.
