Townsville Civic Theatre and Riverway Arts Centre are managed and programmed by Townsville City Council. Both venues offer a range of entertainment and special events and provide an environment to further develop performing arts in Townsville and the North. Riverway Arts Centre is currently closed. Re-opening date is unknown.
The Townsville Civic Theatre is North Queensland's premier cultural facility owned and managed by Townsville City Council. Since its opening in 1978, the theatre continues to be a dynamic centre of entertainment and provide an environment to further develop the performing arts in Townsville and the region.
The diverse programming is designed to appeal to a broad cross-section of the community including productions tailored to meet specific needs of youth, primary school-aged children, seniors and families.

Loading dock is not ground level, and there is no forklift on-site. The dock sits at standard tailgate height, but it is best to tour with a ramp of your own.
There is no tarkett/marley on-site, this must be toured/hired specifically.

In addition, the Riverway Arts Centre provides options for the private and corporate events market including weddings, balls, workshops, conferences, exhibitions and trade shows.
LX: The lighting bars are fixed, but on motorised winches. There is only 1 FOH LX bar, and requires the retraction of the seating bank to rig and focus.
Dressing rooms: There are 2 dressing rooms with capacity for up to 10 people in each. There are no office spaces for additional staff, and phone signal is patchy.
Facilities: There are no food facilities on site, but there are many close by.
