Located only one hour south of Townsville and two hours north of the Whitsundays, the Burdekin Theatre hosts a range of national, state and international performers and productions each year. It is the home of arts and entertainment in the Burdekin region.
The theatre is owned and operated by the Burdekin Shire Council.
The Burdekin Theatre also manages bookings for the Burdekin Memorial Hall in Home Hill and the Ayr Showgrounds.
The Burdekin Theatre is a proscenium arch theatre with a raked auditorium seating capacity of 473, on one tier. The venue is fully equipped with lighting, sound, staging and audio visual technology that will allow presentations of the highest calibre. The Theatre also features a fly tower and orchestra pit.
The Burdekin Theatre & Complex opened in November 1982 and has since become the Burdekin regions premier arts venue.

A small multi purpose venue located on the Mezzanine level of the Burdekin Theatre Complex, the Loft is a perfect venue for entertaining, corporate functions & meetings, exhibition space and intimate performances and rehearsals. The Music Loft can be used as a “break out” venue for conferences as well as a venue for private functions in association with events in the main theatre or foyer.
The Music Loft can be accessed via external staircase or by the foyer lift if required.
Projector and presentation equipment is available for hire.
The Music Loft has full wheel chair access and is accessible via the venue’s Foyer lift or stairs and via an external staircase at the side of the Complex. There is wheelchair ramp access to the venue from the Lofts Balcony.
CAPACITY: Standing cocktail functions: 100 with use of the Loft Balcony; Theatre style seating (with room for a presentation/performance area): 60; Cabaret style seating: 80; and Conference seating (horseshoe style): 40

The Forecourt with its beautiful 'Living Lagoon' water feature can accommodate up to 800 people for any outside event. The Burdekin Theatre Forecourt includes an impressive all weather outdoor stage and is a relaxed outdoor facility perfect for public events and private functions.

The Burdekin Theatre Foyer is a versatile space suitable for smaller intimate performances and functions with full production staging if required.
It is the perfect venue for entertaining, intimate performances, weddings, corporate functions and meetings as well as an exhibition space.
The Foyer has full wheel chair access and is accessible via the venue’s main entrance. Equipment. A range of equipment can be hired for use in the venue such as projection and presentation equipment.
The Foyer has a fully equipped small kitchen. Bar services are available.

The highly versatile Memorial Hall, located on 9th Avenue in Home Hill, is the premier home for major balls, fashion shows, cabarets, dance nights, school formals and weddings. The complex houses a Main Hall, Minor Hall and Meeting Room facility.
The Memorial Hall features a stage and modern dressing rooms, a comprehensive sound and lighting systems can be operated by highly skilled technical staff. A commercial kitchen and bar permits on-site catering.
MAIN HALL CAPACITY 700 patrons seated concert style 500 patrons seated with tables.
The Minor Hall is ideal for smaller functions and meetings for up to 120 people seated concert style or up to 80 seated at tables.
The Meeting Room is ideal for meetings for up to 25 people, and is self-contained with its own kitchenette and bathroom.
The Showgrounds, including the hall and main ring, is available for hire for functions, parties, horse events, rodeos and circus type events.
The Ayr Show Grounds Hall has a capacity of approximately 200 patrons seated with tables. A commercial kitchen and bar permits on-site catering. A PA system is also available for hire.
