Established on the original 1853 ‘Juandah’ Railway Station, Wandoan was originally known by that name until 1926 when it was renamed to not cause confusion with another locality by the name Jundah. The chief industry in the town is its agricultural exports including wheat and cattle – grain silos adorn the streets in this picturesque town in the Western Downs Region. The Wandoan Show is celebrated in April.
Wandoan is located 400 km (5 hr drive) north west of Brisbane and 280 km (3 hr 20 min drive) west of Toowoomba.
